Le Pot-Au-Feu is a small, French Restaurant with a warm romantic atmosphere in the heart of Christchurch City, in New Zealand.
At Le Pot-Au-Feu Restaurant I am serving fresh, classical French cuisine with Swiss influences.
I trained in Switzerland at the well known "Restaurant Steinegg" in Altendorf - CH; where apprentice chefs learn the history and recipes of the classic French cuisine. I have 19 years experience in my trade and I am lucky to do what I love every day of the week.
Eleven years ago I opened Le Pot-Au-Feu with a vision to serve fresh, classical French & Swiss fare.
"All my meals are prepared and cooked on arrival of your order to ensure the freshness and quality of each product used and in the dish you order itself."

" I serve classic French cuisine with a touch of modern, Swiss ingenuity, drizzled with a lot of love and served with a side order of passion and enthusiasm.
" I will not go on about how fresh and good my food is - this you have to find out yourself! "
Much Love

Tasting day....
Longing for a day out in the sun I drove to Sandihurst to visit Celia & Henni. I was warmly welcomed, introduced to the winemaker and very quickly found myself barrel tasting Pinot Noir, first Waipara Pinot Noir then the Otago Pinot. What a treasure find. The reds are fruity with good structure of tannins, round and well balanced with long lingering finish. Those wines have character and would stand their ground with many styles of food. So are the whites!! They are just releasing their first Sauvignon Blanc and as I tried it I tell you it is worth driving out to West Melton to sip on some wine. www.sandihurstwines.co.nz

To all my friends and costumers:
I want to thank you for all your support you have given me over the 10 years I was able to cook for you.
It's nearly December 2011; a year ago all was fine at Le Pot-Au-Feu Restaurant. Unfortunately destiny had another idea for the restaurant and me as for so many others of you who are in the same boat.
The building Le Pot-Au-Feu was in, has long been demolished and the Insurance Company does not want to pay out on my claims as per yet - neither for the Business Interruption where they claim they paid too much, nor the Material Damage claim.
So I am in Switzerland enjoying the hospitality of my parents to save every dollar to make sure of the possibility to re-open as "magnitude" @ Le Pot-Au-Feu.
I am still looking for space in the CBD and hope as the rest of the City will open up with save, standing buildings, I'll find a space just as cosy as it was on Gloucester Street, with the same attitude and phylosophy in the kitchen
I will make further statements of my decision-making of the future of Le Pot-Au-Feu in this space of my web page.
If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me throught this web page under "contacting us"
Many Thanks to you all for your interest and support through a rather rough time,
Bono f. Beeler
